A bag to save marine life

Matsapon Soisangwan,

the owner of MAT ARCHER brand

Almost half of the plastic fishing nets produced each year were only used once and dumped into the ocean. These abandoned fishing nets are a significant part of marine waste that harm marine animals. In order to reduce the environmental impact of this problem, The “RETRIEVE collection” from MAT ARCHER has been launched.

The “RETRIEVE collection” bags made from recycled plastic fishing nets by Matsapon Soisangwan, a Thai designer who had joined DITP’s TALENT THAI project to leverage Thai young designers of lifestyle products to the world. This collection was developed to suit the real-world daily use, at the same time helping to reduce waste and urges people to conserve the sea.

Matsapon, the founder and designer of MAT ARCHER brand, designs waterproof convertible laptop computer backpack/cross body bags made from recycled fishing nets recovered from the sea as well as rescue marine animals.

MAT ARCHER believes that the bags should not only protect the laptop computer but should also reflect the owner’s personality and lifestyle. Therefore, the bags are designed with a stylish black tone to accommodate metro lifestyle both for professional and casual use.

The RETRIEVE Collection can be seen at Talent THAI HOME ACCESSORIES Booth, Hall 4, H120/I119 stand at the Maison & Objet show in Paris between the 6-10 of September, 2019.
